The Show
Come From Away is a new musical following passengers stranded during the tragic events of 9/11. Follow the story of 7,000 airline passengers from across the globe as a small community in Newfoundland, Canada, invite them into their lives. The show uses the true story and music to celebrate the friendship and hope that evolved from complete tragedy.

History of Come From Away
Toronto Lawyer and theatre producer Michael Rubinoff first conceived the idea of Come From Away, eventually he brought writers Irene Sankoff and David Hein on board. The pair had previously worked on musical "My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding". After visiting Gander on the attacks 10th anniversary, Sankoff and Hein put some of the stories directly in the musical whilst others were merged together for the story. It was then produced, by Rubinoff, into a 45-minute workshop for the Canadian Music Theatre Project in 2012. After the success of the workshop the three of them came together to complete a full production. The musical eventually found its way from San Diego to Seattle and then in 2017 the musical opened on Broadway for previews. After a US national tour across 25 cities in 2018 the musical was shown at Abbey Theatre in Dublin, then in January 2019 the show came to the West End.
